Training Opportunities - Youth Training

Adept offers a caring, supportive and modern learning environment for eligible students. We encourage you to learn at your own pace and we use a variety of teaching methods and approaches i.e. supportive, patient tutors, hands on practice, one-to-one tutoring, clear and prompt feedback.

Computing 4 Employment Level 1

Computer/keyboard skills training using a wide range of common software tools. There is a strong emphasis on assisting learners to gain recognised Unit Standard based qualifications with options of working toward the National Certificate in Computing Level 2 or the National Certificate in Business Administration and Computing Level 2.

Course content includes:

  • Computer usage skills e.g. MS Windows, File Management, Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint
  • Touch typing speed and accuracy skills
  • Interview techniques/CV preparation

Computing 4 Employment Level 2

Computer/keyboard skills training using a wide range of common software tools. There is a strong emphasis on assisting learners to gain recognised Unit Standard based qualifications and to achieve employment or further training.

Course content includes:

  • Computer skills e.g. MS Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook, touch typing speed and accuracy skills
  • Work towards/gain a National Certificate in Computing Level 2
  • Interview techniques/CV preparation
  • Practical work experience available for “work ready” learners

Computing 4 Employment Level 3

This course contains highly sought after workplace skills and includes both national and international qualifications, e.g. National Certificate in Computing Level 3 and two MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) qualifications. Learn how to competently use commonly used software tools e.g. MS Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.

Course content includes:

  • Competent use of the commonly used Microsoft Office applications, touch typing/data entry speed and accuracy
  • An insight into the commercial environment with practical work experience for “work-ready” learners

Business Administration 4 Employment

Training in business administration/computing skills. Using a wide range of common tools, learners will apply these to office tasks/procedures e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, accounts, MYOB, telephone and customer service skills.

There is a strong emphasis on assisting learners to gain recognised Unit Standard based qualifications and work towards/gain a National Certificate in Business Administration and Computing Level 2.

Course content includes:

  • Computer skills using MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Powerpoint
  • An insight into the commercial environment with practical work experience available for "work-ready" learners

Business Administration 4 Employment (Flexi-Time)

This programme is ideally suited to those students who for one reason or another cannot undertake full-time training, or require flexible start/finish times. Students are required to attend for a minimum of 20 hours per week.
